Dating In Hexham
Hexham is a wonderfully romantic setting for a first date. The first time you meet someone it is lovely to meet during the day, have the time to chat, take in some sights and relax , lose those first date nerves. Meeting in a town like Hexham is ideal, with so many historical sights you should never have any awkward silences.
Hexham is a beautiful Market town that lends itself to an afternoon of lazily meandering through the streets, perhaps a coffee outside a delightful tea room or cafe I particularly enjoy the the Queens Cafe, but there are many more to explore.
I would recommend travelling the 1 and ½ miles to Corbridge where you can walk along the main street of this Roman garrison town, flanked by the remains of granaries, a fountain house, markets, workshops and temples.
Astride the intersection of Roman Dere Street and Stanegate, Corbridge was initially the site of a series of important forts. But after Hadrian’s Wall was fully commissioned it developed into a prosperous town, a tempting leave-centre for off-duty Wall garrisons. Abandoned after the collapse of Roman rule in Britain, the town centre has been systematically excavated, producing the fascinating array of finds now most attractively displayed in the site museum.
With so much to see and do during the day, I would suggest a nice calm evening, then an intimate meal, where the conversation may flow freely; perhaps you can discuss your second date, where will you head to next?
With so many fine restaurants in Hexham you might be spoilt for choice. Listed below are a few we would recommend.
- Hayden Bridge Tandoori
- Silver Palace II
- The Archway Restaurant
- Pebbles
